The Sullivan County Historical Society will once again participate in the county’s Museum Weekend to be held Saturday & Sunday, July 26-27, including at the Museum & Cultural Center in Hurleyville. Nine Sullivan County Museums will be participating including the Sullivan County Museum in Hurleyville, home to the Sullivan County Historical Society and the Frederick Cook Society.
An added attraction at the Sullivan County Historical Society on Saturday, July 26 from 11:00 – 4:00 p.m. will be a White Elephant Sale to benefit the Professional Women of Sullivan County’s Scholarship fund and the Sullivan County Historical Society. A “White Elephant Sale” is similar to a yard sale. Ours will be in the auditorium so it will happen rain or shine. There will be Sullivan County books for sale. Refreshments will be available.
While at the museum take time to enjoy the photography display of local landscapes and wild life, the Roger Baker display of his 440 plus images “On the Road with Roger Baker” from the Sullivan County Democrat, and updated One Room School House display, hotel display, Military Room, General Store, and Synfleur Fragrances display.
