Museum Weekend at Hurleyville

July 25 from 11:00 – 4:00 it’s Sullivan County Museum Weekend with a White Elephant Sale supporting the Professional Women of Sullivan County’s Scholarship Fund and the Sullivan County Historical Society. The event will be held in the auditorium of the museum in Hurleyville. This is your opportunity to visit some of the many museums in Sullivan County that are participating. In this collaborative event to encourage Sullivan County residents and visitors to engage with the history and visit cultural touchstones in the area. Several of the participating museums are offering special events for the weekend.

If you are wondering what is a “White Elephant Sale, think of it as an indoor yard sale. The Professional Women of Sullivan County will be using its income from the sale to fund scholarships for local students, and the Historical Society will be using money raised to support the museum’s programs.

Be sure to check out the updated  photographic display of “The Covered Bridges of Sullivan County “ curated by Carol Smith. An assortment of books relating to Sullivan County will also be available for purchase.
